Smith Affiliated Capital Corp. ("SAC") announces the appointment of Robert L. Peters, Jr. as Vice President and Director of Business Development. Mr. Peters will be a member of the firm's Investment Committee and will be responsible for coordinating communication with existing clients, consultants, and prospective clients as well as the new-business management and development issues of the firm.
Mr. Peters initially began his career at SAC in 2000, learning all aspects of the separate-account, fixed income portfolio management business. He moved on in 2004 to specialize in institutional marketing of fixed income products at RBS Greenwich Capital, covering a broad institutional client base with a focus on mortgage-based products. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2007 as a member of the Strategic Client Advisory Group, where he was directly responsible for marketing fixed-income strategies to the firm's Fortune 500 corporate pension plans, insurance companies, and captive insurance plans. Mr. Peters brings with him solid experience in asset-backed securities, business building, and sales team management, coupled with the market knowledge and product application of a seasoned veteran. We are confident that he will provide considerable depth and vision to our established group of professionals. Mr. Peters received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. With Mr. Peters's strategic marketing and client-service experience, Dr. Robert Smith welcomes him back to the firm. "We view Rob's return to SAC as a forward step in deepening the firm's ability to deliver high quality services to our clients," said Dr. Smith. "Rob will broaden SAC's business-development reach by taking advantage of the increased demand for high quality fixed-income money management and our excellent track record." Founded in 1982, SAC is a privately owned, SEC-registered firm offering investment advisory services to institutions, high net worth individuals and their families, and endowments and foundations. Utilizing an active management approach, SAC is a fixed income specialist dedicated to providing high quality, separately managed portfolios that consistently yield attractive total returns while limiting exposure to excessive risk. SAC currently manages over $2.2 billion in assets. |
